The Item Alias Group table is also used in EDI purchase orders and invoices to convert your item ID and name to your customer Id and name.
Item Alias Groups first prompts you for a group ID and description and then works the same as Customer Item Alias (except there is no customer field). In this way you can create groups of item aliases and assign them to customers later, saving time over adding the same items to many customers especially when you cannot use a customer mask.
The Item Alias Group table contains all the items that have alternative or standard item information required for the group and are used to link your item Id and name to the group's Id and name in EDI Transactions.
